Free & Reduced Lunch Program

National School Lunch Program & Breakfast Program

Kindergarten through 8th grade buildings participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the National School Breakfast Program. Students who qualify in these buildings may participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. A reduced price breakfast is $0.30 and a reduced price lunch is $0.40. Applications for this program may be picked up in any of the school offices.

Illinois Free Program

Effingham High School participates in the Illinois Free Program. Students at EHS who qualify may receive free breakfast and lunch. Applications for this program may be picked up at the Hearts Rock Café.

Lunch Debit System

The food service department uses a debit system to administer student lunch accounts in all buildings. We ask that parents maintain a balance in their child's account that will cover all food and beverage purchases. You may check your child's account balance by calling the school office.

Meal Accommodations

Kindergarten through 8th grade schools participate in a federally-funded Child Nutrition Program and any milk, meals, and snacks served must meet program requirements.  Reasonable meal accommodations must be made when the accommodation requested is due to a disability and supported by a physician's statement.  Reasonable meal accommodations may be made for children without disabilities who may still have special dietary needs; a medical statement my be required.  If you are requesting a meal accommodation or substitution, please ask your physician to complete and sign the Physician's Statement for Meal Accommodations form.  If you have any questions, please contact Denise Anderson, Unit #40 Food Service Director, at 217-540-1527.
