South Side School

Our mission is to provide the best education possible using all of our available resources in the most efficient manner possible. 

Effingham offers programs that focus on the student as a whole and that serve children from early childhood to young adulthood. 

Visitors are Welcome!
You are always welcome at the school; however, VISITORS TO SCHOOL ARE REQUIRED BY STATE LAW TO REPORT TO THE OFFICE whenever they enter a school building. Please make sure you stop at the office to sign in and sign out when entering and leaving the building and wear a badge for the safety of the students. Thank you!

1st Grade Students go on a Fall Field Trip

The 1st grade South Side students enjoyed a day

at the Pumpkin Patch in Arthur.  They got to see and

do many fun activities.

"Bucket Fillers"

South Side students and staff are working to be good

"bucket fillers".  "Bucket Fillers" are helpful and kind. 

Encourage your child to fill their "bucket" at home and

school.  This can be a fun activity for the whole family.


Math Fun in Ms. Fatheree's Room

On this day, Ms. Fatheree's class is using the Elmo

Document Camera to do math work. The students

are doing 10 frame math problems.





August Behavior Reward Party

Ronald McDonald made a visit to South Side School

with lots of fun about books and reading.  He says

that we should read with enthusiasm and have a

love for books.  The Library is a great place to go for

interesting books and many different kinds of books.






A Super Year at South Side


The South Side teachers are getting ready for a SUPER year,

dressed like a super hero.
