Please complete any in Process registrations

If you are waiting on documentation to upload, you can still submit your registration information, but will need to bring your documentation to your school for verification.

If you do not have access to a smartphone/computer to complete registration, the Effingham public library has computers available, or you can contact your building secretary to make an appointment to use one at your school.

If you are a new student, contact your school office for help with registration

Please contact your student's school office if you have not received either a letter or an email with your child's "snapcode" to access the registration system, or if you have any questions concerning registration.

Effingham Unit 40 School District

2803 S Banker St

Effingham, IL 62401

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Effingham Unit 40 School District is excited to announce that online student registration/data validation system for the 2018-2019 school year is available. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency and medical information for your child prior to the start of the year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. In short, this online process replaces all the hard copy student registration and permission forms that you have filled out in the past at our annual August registration.

Each returning Unit 40 student will receive a letter and/or email from the Effingham Unit 40 School District providing instructions on how to access the system for your students. The letter and email contained a link, instructions, and a secure “snapcode” that links directly to your student’s information. You may also access the online registration process by following the links to the right of this page. You will create an account and submit a form for each student in the family. To make the process easier for families with multiple students, you will have the option to copy all generic family information to all other students in the family after submitting your first student.

Upon receiving the letter/email, please complete the registration process as soon as possible. Please remember that for new preschool and kindergarten students, parents will be uploading a copy of their children’s birth certificate, physical shot record, vision screening, and dental form. Parents of sixth graders, freshmen, and seniors will also have to upload current physicals and shot records. It would be helpful to have these forms nearby when completing the process. Each student’s registration will not be complete until the forms have been submitted.

Students who are new to Effingham Unit #40 may call Michelle at (217) 540-1100. After receiving basic information, you will be given a “snapcode” enabling you to complete the registration process.

During the online registration process, parents will have the opportunity to create an account with My School Bucks. Through this account, parents will be able to pay registration fees, deposit money into your child’s lunch account, and pay for P.E. clothes online. You also have the option of paying fees and lunch money in person at the Unit #40 Board of Education office or at your child’s school. Course fees will be invoiced/available to pay in the beginning of August through My School Bucks, or in person at BOE or your school.

Families who do not have access to the Internet may contact Effingham High School at (217) 540-1100 to schedule an appointment to utilize the school’s computers to complete the process. If you have additional questions, please contact Kevin McKenna at (217) 540-1529 or email him at
