Symptomatic BinaxNOW Testing Schedule

Unit #40 has developed a symptomatic BinaxNOW testing program. Testing is available each from Monday through Friday on days school is in session from 8 am to 9 am.
The goal of this voluntary program is to reduce potential absences of both students and staff due to COVID symptom exclusion. BinaxNOW symptomatic testing program is voluntary and available to both vaccinated and unvaccinated students/staff who are exhibiting COVID symptoms.
Testing Protocols
1. Click here to sign up for a testing appointment.
2. Testing will be conducted at the EHS parent drop off area (southwest lot - shop entrance). Please enter from Rt. 40 entrance. Pull into one of the marked parking spots (#1 thru #6) at your scheduled appointment time and someone will be out to test you in your vehicle.
3. All students must have a signed consent form and accompanied by a parent/guardian to participate in the BinaxNOW test (consent is accessed through the registering for an appointment).
4. The student/staff member must stay in their vehicle at all times. IDPH testing guidelines will be followed.
5. District health care supervisor will perform the test as outlined in the BinaxNOW procedures.
6. Student, guardian, and/or staff member must wait for test results (expected to be no more than 15-20 minutes).
7. If test result is negative, individual will be provided a note that allows them to return to school immediately.
8. If test result is positive, the individual will be directed to contact their health care provider and the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD) at 217-342-9237.

10. Test results will be shared with health department, the appropriate school, and IDPH through the redcap reporting system.
